The Precision Farming Guide for Agriculturists
Published in Paperback by Deere & Co Service Pubns (January, 1997)
Authors: Dan Ess, Mark Morgan, and Ralph Reynolds
Average review score:

Great basic intro, but lack modern and technical info
This book provides an excellent background for new precision farming students/users. It is centered around building knowledge about how precision farming works, and how it can be applied. THIS BOOK IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY HAVE A THOROUGH BACKGROUND IN PRECISION FARMING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU SEEK A MORE ADVANCED, TECHNICAL REFERENCE.

A good overview of the engineering behind precision farming
For anyone with an interest in precision farming but has only gained knowledge through magazine articles or talks on the subject, understanding this text can give a good foundation and insight for future learning on the subject. From the text, one can learn about the satellite system used in global positioning, remote sensing techniques, monitors aboard combines, sprayers and planters and computer communications in a modern farm production system. Finest attention to detail and sound decisions for maximum profitability is what precision farming is ultimately about. With an understanding and ability to apply the knowledge, opportunity awaits. This book is a starting point. I also believe that this book would work well as a supplemental text for a college or vocational agriculture course geared toward the subject.

Principles of Human Anatomy
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Sons (January, 2000)
Authors: Gerard J. Tortora and Sandra Reynolds Grabowski
Average review score:

Useful & Thorough Anatomy Text
I've found this textbook a useful self-study guide. It is set up logically by body system with accessible pronunciations and definitions and with each chapter building on the next. The illustrations are detailed, informative and easy to follow. Each chapter also contains practical information relating to today's medical practices as it pertains to each body system. I was not as impressed with the companion "A Photographic Atlas of the Human Body" as I prefer illustrations over cadaver photos.

Very goog Human Anatomy
This is a nice Human Anatomy Book. The Structure of the book based on Systems in human body rather than zones.I believe this gives a better overall view of the human body. Much better than that author gives explanation of every name first its pronounciation and than its meaning in original language.Pictures are mostly schematic, very few photographs of cut bodies, some scanning electron pictures were very nice.Together with this book I recommend Organ and Tissue book with scanning electron pictures. I also liked the littel windows called "clinical Application; that brings you into real world. Overall I liked it very much, it is more than just parts of body. It is with information and applications.

The Quaker City or the Monks of Monk Hall: A Romance of Philadelphia Life, Mystery, and Crime
Published in Paperback by Univ. of Massachusetts Press (July, 1995)
Authors: George Lippard and David S. Reynolds
Average review score:

America's first best-seller.
Anybody who enjoyed Matthew Lewis' 'The Monk' will appreciate George Lippard's "You ain't seen nothin' yet" style. The plot revolves around an American version of England's famous 'Hellfire Club' located in Philadelphia's Southwark region (Historians differ on rather or not 'Monk Hall' actually existed. Some claim that such a club did exist from the late 1700's until the 1820's. Other claim that the club sprang from Lippard's very fertile imagination) and features such goodies as white slavery, trap doors, and wanton booze & oyster abuse (now you know why the Republicans picked Philly for their convention). This is one wild read. Lippard once attempted to produce it as a play, but angry protesters threatened to burn down the theater. 'The Monks of Monks Hall' was America's first, real best seller. Read, no doubt, by people who kept uttering "Immoral...shocking...filth..." as they eagerly turned each page. Pick up this piece of history now.

A Peculiar, Enticing Novel
This is a long, sprawling, peculiar novel, but one that I always enjoy going back to. I forget, every time I reread it, how wonderful and strange an adventure it is! Lippard is a minor figure in American letters, inspired by early American masters such as Charles Brockden Brown and popular French novelists such as Eugen Sue. The Quaker City is certainly a flawed work, but it is only more human, engaging and approachable because of this fact. Lippard was no master of plot structure or narrative technique; in fact, he wasn't much of a craftsman at all, regarding the nuances and fine textures of language. However, he was a writer gifted with a dizzingly original, and sometimes grotesque, imagination. The Quaker City is the kind of book that you can't pot down, although part of you sometimes wants to. His tale of the intrigues and iniquities lurking beaneath the surface of Victorian Philadelphia will shock and amaze. I especially recommend this novel for fans of Caleb Carr, Egdar Allan Poe, and Robertson Davies.

Stars a LA Carte With Magic Stack-N-Wack Bonus Projects: With Magic Stack-N-Whack Bonus Projects
Published in Paperback by Collector Books (March, 2000)
Author: Bethany S. Reynolds
Average review score:

Interesting, but not a keeper
If you are looking for Stack-n-Whack, this book contains only a couple of examples - the rest of the quilts are 8-pointed stars made by cutting the background squares and triangles in half so you don't have to do set-in "Y" seams. I tried piecing a star this way, and the piecing is a little easier, but it is not that hard to do the set-in seams and I don't like seeing the seams in what should be solid pieces of fabric. I'm a big fan of Bethany's Stack-N-Whack books but was a bit disappointed in this one.

Stars a la Carte
Ms. Reynolds has given those of us who have had so much fun with stack 'n whack many more exciting projects to look forward to. Her clear, precise directions make the patterns easy to use and her illustrations and pictures help to complete a beautiful quilt. I can hardly wait to get started!

Toby's Doll's House
Published in Paperback by Sterling Publications (March, 2000)
Authors: Regnhild Scamell and Adrian Reynolds
Average review score:

Puts ideas of what Toby should want against what he does wan
This book tackles the theme of sexual stereotyping for young children. The adults all assume that the child wants what they wanted as a child. All Toby wants is a dolls house. And he manages it in the end. My four year old nephew was referring to all boxes as dolls houses for weeks after reading this book.

52-Week Hockey Training (52-Week Sport Training Series)
Published in Paperback by Human Kinetics (T) (December, 2001)
Authors: Don MacAdam and Gail Reynolds
Average review score:

Well Structured, a Good Guide to Success
52-Week Hockey Training is a very complete book that, if followed properly, will help immensely in improving your overall fitness as well as getting you into great "hockey" shape. The book overall is very satisfactory and achieves its purpose, but I think that some improvements can be made. Some of the photos do not give a good picture of the exersice and all of the pictures are in black and white. A foreword by an NHL star was lacking and would have been a nice compliment. One thing I thought very useful however, was the breakdown of the four main training periods from off-season to postseason.

This book is a great training guide that covers everything from flexibility to power and quickness. There are countless exercises, drills, procedures and schedules that will make attaining your goals much easier. A very complete book that is a bit rough around the edges.

America's Fastest Way to Become a Millionaire!: "The Magic Nine System"
Published in Paperback by New Start Pubns (June, 1986)
Author: Mark J. Reynolds
Average review score:

Mail Order Millions
This was the very first book I ever read on mail order and direct marketing. Before this book I knew nothing about direct marketing- boy have I come a long way!

This book sparked an interest and will probably always remain one of my favorites. It is a great book for beginners- covering such areas as product selection with a list of wholesalers and exporters, copywriting, mail order primer, and some solid direct marketing principles.

If you're a beginner, you can't beat this book for learning. Although some of it is a little outdated, the principles Mark teaches are timeless, and would be a great stepping stone into the world of mail order.

And Still We Rise: Interviews With 50 Black Role Models
Published in Paperback by USA Today Books (December, 1989)
Author: Barbara A. Reynolds

And Still We Rise--A message that is never outdated
I am the author of the book and I still have some copies on hand. It is good read for young people who want to a quick read on 50 African-American role models. I talked to all of them while I was an editor at USA TODAY. A few, such as journalist Carl Rowan and Ethel Payne and Arthur Ashe have died. Some of those interviewed included Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Ray Charles, Bill Cosby, Martin Luther King Sr. and Martin Luther King III and Guion Bluford, the first African American astronaunt in space. Basically, it provides background and question and answer formats dealing with their successes amd failures. If you want the book you can get it from me. Reynew@aol.com

Arcos y Alamedas
Published in Hardcover by Prentice Hall (K-12) (June, 1992)
Author: Reynolds
Average review score:

well organized
The book is well organized in content. Vocabulary words are put in a separate section, presented along with illustrations and example dialogues so that readers would understand the application of the new vocab words in everyday use and in sentence structure. Grammar is efficiently explained, especially in part of verb tenses and conjugation. Practice exercises are well suited to each section. The only flaw is that the book is outdated in cultural knowledge. The book is of 1992, in need of newer information about Spanish-speaking world.
